What’s Next by Okta for Good is for US-based job seekers, self-taught learners, students, part-time employees, and transitioning professionals who are ready to launch or rebuild a technical career in Identity and Access Management (IAM). Whether you are an unemployed tech professional actively seeking your next role following a recent layoff, a student or self-directed learner building job-ready credentials, or a veteran or military (veteran) spouse entering the tech space, this program provides a pathway to industry-recognized certification. • 1 Premier Practice exam, plus access to free practice exams, to fine-tune and test your skills while you prepare for certification ($75 value).

• 1 Certification exam voucher, a path to earn industry-recognized credentials ($250+ value).

Choosing Your Certification Pathway 

Participants will have the opportunity to select one (1) of two learning tracks based on their career goals:

Okta Certified Professional | Workforce & IT Path

• Prepares You For Roles Like: Okta Administration, Identity & Access Management (IAM), IT Security, Systems Administration.

• Core Focus: Managing the Okta Workforce Identity Cloud (OIE). You will learn to manage user lifecycles, configure group rules, enforce enterprise SSO/MFA policies, and integrate directory services (AD/LDAP) across internal corporate applications.

Auth0 Certified Developer | Developer & Product Path

• Prepares You for Roles Like: Application Security Engineering, Full-Stack Development, Customer Identity (CIAM) Architecture.

• Core Focus: Building authentication into applications using the Auth0 platform. You will learn to implement OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect (OIDC) flows, integrate Auth0 SDKs into web and mobile apps, customize login pipelines with JavaScript Actions, and secure backend APIs.

Prerequisites & Technical Readiness 

You don't need years of full-time work experience to succeed in this program, but a technical background or coursework is essential. These certifications feature hands-on, practical exams—meaning you’ll configure live Okta environments or write real code to secure apps. Before applying, confirm that your background aligns with your chosen pathway:

Okta Certified Professional Track

• Ideal Background: Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or IT majors/grads, or anyone with hands-on lab experience managing             systems, networks, or SaaS tools.

• Core Skills Needed: Basic understanding of networking, directory structures (like Active Directory or LDAP), user access                     management, and web security basics.

Auth0 Certified Developer Track

• Ideal Background: Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Web Development majors/grads, bootcamp graduates, or self-taught developers with project experience.

• Core Skills Needed: Proficiency in JavaScript/Node.js, experience building web or mobile apps, and comfort working with REST APIs and web protocols.

Note: While the grant includes comprehensive Okta/Auth0 training courses to prepare you for the exam, it does not teach foundational IT, networking, or coding skills from scratch. If you’ve built full-stack projects, completed lab-based IT/cybersecurity courses, or managed IT infrastructure in a student lab or internship, you are well-positioned to succeed!
